Rooted in Family. Raised from the Land.

Welcome to Rocky Ridge Hollow

Cradled by the winding banks of the Middle River and framed by the rugged beauty of Virginia’s Allegheny Mountains, Rocky Ridge Hollow is more than a homestead — it’s a promise to the future.

Here in the heart of Swoope, Virginia, our 14-acre sanctuary lies beneath the watchful silhouettes of Elliott Knob and Buffalo Gap. Scattered across the land, ancient Sycamores stretch toward the sky, while Black Walnut, Black Cherry, Virginia Pine, and Eastern Red Cedar whisper stories of seasons long past. Wild turkey trace their paths through the meadow grasses, white-tailed deer emerge at dusk along the field edges, and the calls of barred owls echo from the ridgelines. Red-tailed hawks circle high above, while songbirds and pollinators weave color and motion across orchard rows and garden beds.

This website is our family’s journal — a chronicle of raising a multigenerational home from the soil up. You’ll find tales of orchard rows and garden beds, of hammer strikes and timber frames, of a life built around resilience, restoration, and reverence for the land and the wildlife we share it with.
